Strengthening Bonds within the Warwick Pakistan Community
April 4th, 2024 – Warwick University’s Representative in Pakistan, StEPS hosted the Warwick community for a memorable Friends and Family Iftar, graciously sponsored by Pakistan premier household brand Sufi Group and loyal Warwick alumnus, Hamza Sufi. Held at the Avari Hotel in Lahore this event provided a unique platform for networking, reconnecting with academic contacts, alumni, and engaging with offer holders, further reinforcing the strong sense of community that defines Warwick.
“It was heartwarming to witness the genuine connections and conversations that took place throughout the evening. Events like these truly highlight the strength and spirit of the Warwick community in Pakistan and serve as a reaffirmation of our longstanding relationship with the University since 1998.” said Saima Asghar Riaz, CEO of StEPS and Warwick TESOL alumna.
Hamza Sufi, a proud Warwick Business School alumnus, shared his passion for Warwick and how it has remained a significant part of his life. “Warwick Business School holds a special place in my heart. Not only did my MSc in Marketing and Strategy equip me with invaluable skills, but it also inspired me to pursue my entrepreneurial dreams and expand my family business through new verticals like Simply Sufi, Pakistan’s premier fast food brand promoting the local economy,” Hamza remarked. “Now, I often visit the campus with my kids, reminiscing about my time at Warwick and the journey it has set me on.”
The event welcomed not only alumni and academic contacts but also prospective Warwick applicants, underscoring the inclusive nature of the Warwick family. Tom Gregory, Student Recruitment Officer (MENA & Pakistan) at Warwick, sent a video message thanking Hamza for his generosity, and Saima and the StEPS team for their 25 years of service to the Warwick community.
“We wanted to showcase the close-knit community that defines Warwick,” explained Mehek Amir, Warwick WMG alumna and Senior Consultant at StEPS. “Inviting offer holders to join us for the Iftar was a way to demonstrate the warmth and support they can expect as part of the Warwick family.”
The Warwick Friends and Family Iftar served as a testament to the enduring bonds and sense of belonging that characterize the Warwick community. As attendees shared stories, forged connections, and celebrated together, it became evident that the spirit of Warwick extends far beyond campus walls.
